35 Local practising certificates
(1) The following kinds of practising certificates may be granted by the
relevant council under this part:
(a) unrestricted practising certificates;
(b) restricted practising certificates;
(c) barrister practising certificates.
Note A current practising certificate granted under this part is a local
practising certificate (see dict).
(2) A regulation may prescribe—
(a) criteria for granting or renewing practising certificates; or
(b) procedures in relation to applications for practising certificates.
(3) It is a statutory condition of a local practising certificate that the
holder must not hold another local practising certificate, or an
interstate practising certificate, that is in force during the currency of
the firstmentioned certificate.
(4) A contravention of subsection (3) can be unsatisfactory professional
