308 Definitions—pt 3.3
approved, for a policy of indemnity insurance—see section 312.
insurable barrister means a local legal practitioner who is a barrister,
other than a practitioner who is exempted by the relevant council from
the requirement to be insured under this Act.
insurable legal practitioner means an insurable barrister or insurable
insurable solicitor means a solicitor who holds an unrestricted
practising certificate, other than a solicitor—
(a) who has given a written undertaking to the relevant council that
the solicitor will not practise during the period to which the
practising certificate relates otherwise than in the course of the
solicitor’s employment by an entity (other than an incorporated
legal practice) stated in the undertaking; or
(b) who is exempted by the relevant council from the requirement
to be insured under this Act.
