295 Application for costs assessment by law practice
retaining another law practice
(1) A law practice that retains another law practice to act on behalf of a
client may apply to the Supreme Court for an assessment of all or any
part of the legal costs to which a bill given by the other law practice
in accordance with division 3.2.6 (Billing) applies.
(2) If any legal costs have been paid without a bill, the law practice may
nevertheless apply for a costs assessment.
(4) An application under this section must be made not later than 60 days
after—
(a) the day the bill was given or the request for payment was made;
or
request was made.
(5) An application cannot be made under this section if there is a costs
agreement between the client and the other law practice.
