195 Statutory condition on local registration about
notification of offence
(1) It is a statutory condition of registration as a foreign lawyer that the
lawyer—
(a) must notify the relevant council that the lawyer has been—
(i) convicted of an offence that would have to be disclosed in
relation to an application for registration as a foreign
lawyer under this Act; or
(ii) charged with a serious offence; and
(b) must do so in writing not later than 7 days after the day the event
happens.
(2) This section does not apply to an offence to which division 2.7.7
(Special powers in relation to local registration of foreign lawyer—
show-cause events) applies.
