191 Return of local registration certificate
(1) This section applies if a person’s registration under this part as a
foreign lawyer is amended, suspended or cancelled.
(2) The relevant council may give the person a written notice requiring
the person to return the person’s local registration certificate to the
relevant council in the way (if any) stated in the notice within a stated
period of not less than 14 days after the day the person is given the
notice.
(3) The person must comply with the notice.
(4) An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
(5) The relevant council must return the person’s local registration
certificate to the person—
(a) if the certificate is amended—after amending it; or
(b) if the registration is suspended and is still current at the end of
the suspension period—at the end of the suspension period.
