17 Prohibition on representing or advertising entitlement to
engage in legal practice if not entitled
(a) the person represents or advertises that the person is entitled to
engage in legal practice; and
(b) the person is not an Australian legal practitioner.
(a) the person is a director, officer, employee or agent of a
corporation; and
(b) the person represents or advertises that the corporation is
entitled to engage in legal practice; and
(c) the corporation is not an incorporated legal practice.
(3) Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to a representation or
advertisement about being entitled to engage in legal practice of a
kind mentioned in section 16 (3) (Prohibition on engaging in legal
practice if not entitled).
(4) A reference in this section to—
(a) a person representing or advertising that the person is entitled to
engage in legal practice; or
(b) a person representing or advertising that a corporation is entitled
to engage in legal practice;
includes a reference to the person doing anything that states or implies
that the person or the corporation is entitled to engage in legal
