186 Penalty where land officer applies for allotment Every land officer and every substitute of any land officer who directly or indirectly selects or applies for a lease of any selection purchase allotment within the district to which he has been appointed shall thereby forfeit his office and shall also forfeit the sum of $200 with full costs of suit which may be recovered by any person who sues for the same in any court of competent jurisdiction.
