140 Bail for person arrested S. 140(1) amended by Nos 30/2016 s. 38, 22/2020 s. 7D. (1) If it is not practicable for a person arrested under an arrest warrant issued under section 139(2) to be brought before the IBAC within a reasonable time after he or she is arrested, the person must be brought before the Supreme Court or the Magistrates' Court. S. 140(2) amended by No. 30/2016 s. 38. (2) When a person is brought before the Supreme Court or the Magistrates' Court under subsection (1), the Supreme Court or the Magistrates' Court must deal with the person in accordance with the **Bail Act 1977** as if the person had been accused of an offence.
