sch.2-sec.26 Tyres—suitability
The requirements about the suitability of a tyre fitted to a vehicle by reference to the vehicle’s speed stated in a second edition ADR or third edition ADR do not apply to a tyre fitted to a heavy vehicle. A tyre fitted to a heavy vehicle must be suitable for road use at the lesser of— 100 km/h; and the vehicle’s top speed. (sch.2-sec.26-ssec.1) The requirements about the suitability of a tyre fitted to a vehicle by reference to the vehicle’s speed stated in a second edition ADR or third edition ADR do not apply to a tyre fitted to a heavy vehicle. (sch.2-sec.26-ssec.2) A tyre fitted to a heavy vehicle must be suitable for road use at the lesser of— 100 km/h; and the vehicle’s top speed.
- (a) 100 km/h; and
- (b) the vehicle’s top speed.
