sch.2-sec.16 Bonnet-securing devices
A heavy motor vehicle with a moveable body panel forward of the windscreen covering an engine or luggage storage or battery compartment must have a device to secure the panel. However, if the panel opens from the front in a way partly or completely obstructing the driver’s forward view through the windscreen, the panel must have primary and secondary devices to secure the panel.
