Commonwealth legislation
This instrument exempts four specific halogen lamp models from parts of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Incandescent Lamps for General Lighting Services) Determination 2024, removing GEMS energy-performance, labelling and related requirements for supplies of those models. It applies to manufacturers, importers, retailers and online sellers: those suppliers must label packaging and online listings “for use in lava lamps only”. The instrument is made under the GEMS Act, takes effect the day after registration and automatically repeals after five years.

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
This instrument is made under subsection 37(1) of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012.
In this instrument:
Act means the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012.
Determination means the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Incandescent Lamps for General Lighting Services) Determination 2024.
exempt models: see section 5.
The models specified in clause 1 of Schedule 1 (the exempt models) are exempt from the requirements of the Determination as described at clause 2 of Schedule 1 with respect to the supplies of the exempt models specified at clause 3 of Schedule 1.
The conditions at clause 4 of the Schedule are specified for the purposes of subsection 37(2) of the Act.
This instrument is repealed five years after the date of commencement.
