47 Appointment and functions of auditor
> > (1) The Governor may, in relation to an annual reporting period for the Audit Office, appoint a registered company auditor within the meaning of the [Corporations Act 2001](http://www.legislation.gov.au/) of the Commonwealth to inspect and audit the Audit Office’s financial report and the books and records relating to the administration, during the annual reporting period, of the Audit Office.

> > (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the auditor shall have and may exercise, in relation to the Audit Office, the same functions as the Auditor-General has under this Act in relation to an audit of government money.
