(3) Without limiting subsection (1), the flow of electricity at the following material points for a division 6 system must be metered or measured:
(a) if a direct line carries alternating current—each point at which electricity is transferred through the direct line into the division 6 system from the direct-supply generation system;
(b) any point, on a direct line between the division 6 system and the direct‑supply generation system, at which electricity is delivered to a load;
(c) any point on a direct line to which another energy storage system is connected;
(d) any point at which electricity enters a direct line to the division 6 system, other than a point mentioned elsewhere in this subsection;
(e) if the direct-supply generation system generates electricity from anything other than an eligible renewable energy source—each point the metering or measuring of electricity flowing through which is necessary to work out the amount of electricity transferred into the division 6 system that is generated:
(i) from anything other than an eligible renewable energy source; or
(ii) in a manner that is not ecologically sustainable.
(4) However, the flow of electricity at a material point for a division 6 system need not be metered or measured if:
(a) the flow of electricity at the material point:
(i) can be worked out by subtracting the flow of electricity at one or more other material points from the flow of electricity at any other material point; or
(ii) is the total flow of electricity at 2 or more other material points; and
(b) the flow of electricity at each of the material points mentioned in subparagraph (a)(i) or (ii) is metered or measured in accordance with this instrument.
(5) In this section:
direct line has the same meaning as in section 35 of the rules.
