Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This Determination requires holders of Commonwealth fishing concessions to keep, maintain and furnish specified logbooks or electronic logbooks (e‑logs) for particular fisheries and fishing methods. It repeals the 2017 Determination and prescribes five electronic schemas plus detailed data fields, units and timelines for reporting to AFMA.
It affects concession holders (who bear the compliance cost), and gives AFMA Licensing Officers discretion to grant exemptions where a holder shows significant difficulty (section 8). Practically, it standardises and expands the data collected (species, location, effort, interactions).

Zoe can write the in-depth analysis on top of the summary above: how it works, who it affects and what each part actually does.
