144 Giving false certificates an indictable offence Any officer or person authorized required or permitted by any provision of this Act to furnish any copies extracts or transcripts who wilfully certifies or delivers any document as being a true copy extract or transcript knowing that the same is not a true copy extract or transcript (as the case may be) shall be guilty of an offence and be liable to imprisonment for a term of not more than two years.
