sec.61 Qualifications for educators at QEC approved services that are school age care services

This section applies in relation to a QEC approved service that is a school age care service when providing regulated education and care to children. At least 1 of the educators required to meet the educator to child ratio for the QEC approved service must— hold at least a 2 year relevant qualification; or be actively working towards at least a 2 year relevant qualification. Also, at least 1 staff member for each 30 children being provided regulated education and care must— hold at least a 1 year relevant qualification; or be actively working towards at least a 1 year relevant qualification. If the QEC approved service provides regulated education and care to not more than 30 children, a single educator may satisfy the requirements under subsections (2) and (3) . In this section— relevant qualification see the Education and Care Services National Regulations , regulation 299(7). The National Authority publishes on its website a list of the qualifications approved for the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Regulations .
