sec.124 Roads and road closures
MEDQ may perform functions or exercise powers for a road that MEDQ considers necessary or desirable to perform its other functions in relation to— a priority development area; or PDA-associated development for a priority development area. Without limiting subsection (1) , MEDQ may, by gazette notice, permanently or temporarily close all or part of a road. Before the closing of the road takes effect, MEDQ must publish a notice MEDQ considers appropriate about the closure in a newspaper circulating in the relevant local government area. Failure to comply with subsection (3) does not invalidate the closure. MEDQ may do everything necessary to stop traffic using a road or part of a road closed under this section. To remove any doubt, it is declared that this section applies— whether or not a road is a State-controlled road under the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 ; and whether or not the Land Act 1994 applies to a road. s 124 amd 2016 No. 17 s 122 (sec.124-ssec.1) MEDQ may perform functions or exercise powers for a road that MEDQ considers necessary or desirable to perform its other functions in relation to— a priority development area; or PDA-associated development for a priority development area.
