#### 93A Secretary’s power to waive, reduce, postpone or refund fees 93A Secretary’s power to waive, reduce, postpone or refund fees > > (1) The Secretary may waive, reduce, postpone or refund, in whole or part, a fee payable or paid under the Act or this Regulation if the Secretary is satisfied it is appropriate because— > > > > > (a) the person who is to pay or has paid the fee is suffering financial hardship, or > > > > > (b) special circumstances exist. > > > > > > Example— > > > > > > Special circumstances include a natural disaster or recovery from a natural disaster. > > > (2) A professional body of engineers may, by written application to the Secretary, request a refund of the whole of application fees for the following if an application for recognition or renewal is withdrawn— > > > > > (a) recognition as a recognised engineering body, > > > > > (b) renewal of recognition as a recognised engineering body. > > **cl 93A:** Ins 2021 (312), Sch 1\[7\].
