Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act ends the dairy industry levy (a type of tax) that had been in place since 1977.

Key changes:

Sets an expiry date: The levy no longer applies to dairy products produced on or after 1 July 1986.
Disbands the Advisory Committee: It removes the definition of the "Advisory Committee" and no longer requires the Minister to consult with them when making regulations, since the levy scheme is ending.

Why it matters: This is a "cleanup" law that formally stops the collection of the dairy stabilization levy and dismantles its administrative framework.
