### 17 Classification of Crown land and determination of terms and conditions of sale, &c.
> > (1) Without prejudice to the generality of the provisions of [section 13](#GS13@EN) [(1)](#GS13@Gs1@EN) , the Minister has power, in respect of Crown land, to do the following acts and things or any of them, that is to say:

> > > > (a) [*\[Section 17 Subsection (1) amended by No. 17 of 1996, Applied:19 Mar 2002\]*](/view/html/inforce/2002-03-19/act-1996-017#AT@EN) Classify the land in such manner as he may determine; and
> > >
> > > > (b) Determine the eligibility of persons or classes of persons who may purchase the land or the land so classified; and
> > >
> > > > (c) Determine the conditions and restrictions which may apply to the land or the land so classified; the conditions which a purchaser shall fulfil in respect of, and the improvements which he shall effect to, the land.

> > (2) Where the Minister classifies any Crown land or makes any determination in respect thereof under [subsection (1)](#GS17@Gs1@EN) , he shall not sell the land other than in accordance with the classification or determination.
