116R Damage etc to be minimised
(1) In the exercise, or purported exercise of a function in relation to
electronic equipment under section 116O, section 116P or
section 116Q, a police officer must take all reasonable steps to ensure
that the officer, and any person assisting who is not an officer, causes
as little damage as practicable.
(2) If the police officer or person assisting damages anything in the
exercise or purported exercise of a function under section 116O,
section 116P or section 116Q, the police officer or person assisting
must give written notice of the particulars of the damage to the person
the police officer or person assisting believes on reasonable grounds
is the owner of the thing.
(3) If the damage happens on premises entered under this part in the
absence of the occupier, the notice may be given by securing it in a
conspicuous place on the premises.
