Building identification signs

(1) Must be located on land in an employment or mixed use zone, Zone RU1 Primary Production, Zone RU5 Village, Zone R1 General Residential, Zone SP2 Infrastructure or Zone RE2 Private Recreation.

(2) Maximum area—

(a) if located on land in Zone SP2 Infrastructure, Zone E4 General Industrial or Zone RE2 Private Recreation—1.5m2, or

(b) if located on land in any other zone—1m2.

(3) Must not be illuminated.

(4) Maximum 1 sign per premises.

(5) Must relate to a lawful use carried out on the land.

(6) If mounted to the front fence or front wall of a building, must not protrude beyond the physical limits of that fence or building.

(7) Must not be located on public land.

(8) Must not be located on or in, or in relation to, a heritage item or in a heritage conservation area.
