New South Wales regulation
This Order (commencing 1 September 2022) declares that specified tasks—collecting/removing rubbish, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchenware/appliances, and dusting/cleaning surfaces—are “cleaning work” for the Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave Scheme) Act 2010 (s4; s2–s3). Mechanically, it decides which activities count toward portable long service leave coverage; it does not set contribution or payment rules (those are in the Act). Employers and workers must classify tasks under this declaration to determine scheme coverage and compliance (s4; s3).
