#### 43 Nature of proceedings for offences 43 Nature of proceedings for offences > Proceedings for an offence under this Act or the regulations (except against sections 14 and 16) may be dealt with summarily before the Local Court. > > Note. > > Chapter 5 of the [Criminal Procedure Act 1986](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1986-209) (which relates to summary disposal of certain indictable offences unless an election is made to proceed on indictment) applies to and in respect of an offence under section 14 or 16. See Table 2 of Schedule 1 to that Act.
