#### 211 Protection against self incrimination 211 Protection against self incrimination > > (1) An individual may refuse or fail to give information or do any other thing that the individual is required to do by or under this Law if giving the information or doing the thing might incriminate the individual. > > > (2) However, subsection (1) does not apply to— > > > > > (a) the production of a document or part of a document that is required to be kept under this Law; or > > > > > (b) the giving of the individual’s name or address in accordance with this Law; or > > > > > (c) anything required to be done under section 215 or 216. > > > (3) Any document referred to in subsection (2)(a) that is produced by an individual or any information obtained directly or indirectly from that document produced by an individual is not admissible in evidence against the individual in any criminal proceedings (except for criminal proceedings under this Law) or in any civil proceedings.
