Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument grants a short, temporary safety exemption letting the Airbus A380 prototype (F‑WWOW) land and take off from 45‑metre runways for a few days in November 2005 instead of the usual 60‑metre requirement. It applies only to Airbus Industrie and operations at Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne International Airports.

The flights must comply with CASA special authorisation and the DGAC’s Temporary Permit‑to‑Fly limits. The aim was to test airport compatibility without immediate major infrastructure works.
