18 Relatives of child (1) A relative of a child is any of the following: (a) a parent, grandparent or any other ancestor of the child; (b) a step-parent of the child; (c) a sibling of the child; (d) an uncle or aunt of the child; (e) a cousin of the child; (f) a person who is related to the child in accordance with: (i) any customary law or tradition applicable to the child; or (ii) any contemporary custom or practice. (2) To avoid doubt, a relationship covered by subsection (1) may include a relationship that arises through common ancestry, adoption, marriage, de facto relationship or any customary law or tradition.
