49 Proportion of methane that would have been combusted without the project—new projects
(1) If the project is a new project, the proportion of the methane combusted or taken to be combusted for a reporting period that would have been combusted without the project is worked out using the following formula:

- 1 a new project and an electricity generation and flaring project 1. for the first 12 months after the project receives that dual classification (year 1)—0.37; and
- for later years—0.37 added to the result of multiplying 0.005 by the number of whole years in the period that starts immediately after year 1 and ends at the end of the reporting period (rounding to the nearest year).
- 2 a new project and a flaring only project 1. for the first 12 months after the project receives that dual classification (year 1)—0.30; and
- for later years—0.30 added to the result of multiplying 0.005 by the number of whole years in the period that starts immediately after year 1 and ends at the end of the reporting period (rounding to the nearest year).
- 3 a new project and a flaring only project (small and regional landfill) 1. for the first 12 months after the project receives that dual classification (year 1)—0.00; and
