Project conversion abatement is calculated as the amount of methane combusted by the project that was not generated by carbon tax waste or, for safeguard LFG projects, not generated by non-legacy waste, minus the amount that would have been oxidised in the near surface conditions of the project landfill had it not been collected for the purposes of the project.
