30 Crediting period for projects
(1) For the purposes of paragraph 69(3)(b) of the Act, the following crediting periods are specified for projects of the following types and sub-types:

for a biomethane displacement only project—12 years;
-
for a restarting biomethane displacement only project—12 years minus the length of time between:
-
the start date of the first reporting period in which the project’s forerunner project first treated biogas by biogas upgrading to produce biomethane; and
-
the end date of the crediting period for that forerunner project;

for a new project—12 years;
-
for a restarting flaring only project or upgrade project—144 months minus the number of months in the period that started when this instrument came into force and ended when the section 22 application in relation to the project was made;
-
for an existing upgrade project or existing enhanced project—the period of 144 months, adjusted by:
(i) adding the total number of months in the crediting period for the project under each earlier determination in relation to the project, excluding any months in the reporting period in which the section 128 application in relation to the project was made; and
(ii) subtracting the number of months in the period that started when this instrument came into force and ended when the section 128 application in relation to the project was made.
(2) For the purposes of paragraphs (1)(d) and (e), round up or down to the nearest whole month.
