Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is a short technical amendment to shipping safety regulations that makes two changes:

1. Typo correction

Fixes the spelling of "Lloyd's" (with an apostrophe) in Regulation 5, correcting a reference to Lloyd's Register — a major international organisation that inspects and certifies ships.

2. Removing outdated rules

Deletes sub-regulation 5(5): Removes a specific rule about who can authorise ship surveys.
Deletes sub-regulations 6(6) and 6(7): Removes specific rules about ship classification certificates.

Why this matters These changes tidy up the rules governing who can inspect Australian ships and what documentation they need. By removing the specified sub-regulations, the government is likely streamlining requirements or removing redundant restrictions, though the exact effect depends on what those deleted provisions actually said (which isn't reproduced here).
