Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does: These regulations exempt specific categories of meat from the meat export charge (a fee that would normally apply when exporting meat from Australia).

Who it affects: Meat exporters who deal with the specific types of meat listed in the Exports (Meat) Regulations.

How it works: Instead of listing the meat types directly, the regulations point to two specific provisions in another set of rules (the Exports (Meat) Regulations):

Paragraph 7(b) – covering certain classes of meat
Regulation 9 – covering another specified class of meat

Why it matters: It saves exporters of these particular meat types from having to pay the export charge, effectively creating a carve-out for specific products (likely certain cuts, processed meats, or by-products as defined in the other regulations).
