40Payment of amount

#### 40 Payment of amount (1) If a person lodges an effective acceptance, the Secretary must pay the payment amount offered to the person on the date that is determined by the Secretary to be the earliest date on which it is reasonably practicable for the payment to be made to the person. (2) The amount is to be paid to the credit of a bank account nominated and maintained by the person. (The account may be maintained by the person alone or jointly in common with another person.) (3) The Secretary may direct that the whole or a part of the amount is to be paid to the person in a different way from that provided for by subsection (2). If the Secretary gives a direction, the amount is to be paid in accordance with the direction.
