This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This determination sets the deadline for TV broadcasters in the Mildura/Sunraysia region (covering parts of north-western Victoria and south-western New South Wales) to switch off their analog television signals.
During the "simulcast period", broadcasters transmit both old analog and new digital signals at the same time, giving households time to upgrade their equipment. This document specifies that this dual-broadcast period for the Mildura/Sunraysia licence area ends on 30 June 2010, after which only digital signals will be transmitted.
Who this affects:
Why this matters: After the deadline, analog TVs will no longer receive broadcasts unless connected to a set-top box or other digital equipment. This is part of Australia's broader transition from analog to digital television.
