Commonwealth act
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This Act authorises the Commonwealth to spend £5,515,684 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund on specific public works and buildings for the year ending 30 June 1917. It fixes departmental allocations (Works and Railways, Defence, Navy, Postmaster‑General, Treasury, Home and Territories, Trade and Customs, Prime Minister) and itemises projects so departments may spend against those sums. The money comes from taxpayers via the Consolidated Revenue Fund and Parliament’s grant; affected parties include government departments, contractors and suppliers engaged to deliver the works.
