Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive replaces a prior AD and requires operators of Aerospatiale (Socata) TBM 700 aeroplanes (serial numbers 93–109) and certain replacement trim tabs delivered between 1 Jan 1993 and 29 Feb 1996 to inspect elevator trim‑tab fittings and follow Socata Service Bulletin SB 70‑079 Amendment 1 for corrective action. Inspections must occur at the next Maintenance Release or within 100 hours’ time-in-service, whichever is sooner. The stated safety reason is cracked fittings that could allow trim‑tab separation and flutter; Amendment 1 aligns the AD with the manufacturer’s updated bulletin and the French DGAC revision.
