AD/S-PUMA/60 Amdt 1 - Fuselage Inclined Gearbox Fairing Gutter - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous helicopter safety rule. Specifically, it withdraws Airworthiness Directive AD/S-PUMA/60, which required maintenance or inspections related to the fuselage inclined gearbox fairing gutter on Eurocopter AS 332 (Super Puma) helicopters.

Who it affects:

• Operators and maintenance organisations responsible for Eurocopter AS 332 (Super Puma) series helicopters

What it means:

• You no longer need to follow the requirements of the old directive (AD/S-PUMA/60)
• Instead, you must comply with the newer European standard EASA AD 2009-0275-E (issued 21 December 2009), which replaces the old requirements
• The cancellation took effect on 11 January 2010

Why it matters: This removes redundant compliance obligations. Rather than forcing Australian operators to follow both an old local directive and a new international one, CASA has cancelled the local rule so operators only need to follow the current European safety standard (which applies under Australian aviation law anyway).
