Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
What this does: This document officially cancels an existing air safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/S-76/8) that applied to Sikorsky S-76 helicopters.
Who it affects: Owners and operators of Sikorsky S-76 series helicopters.
What changed: Previously, operators had to follow a standalone safety directive setting "retirement lives" (maximum usage limits before parts must be retired) for certain components. As of 4 August 2005, this separate directive is scrapped because those same safety limits are now built into the aircraft's official maintenance manuals. This removes duplicate paperwork—operators now follow the manual alone rather than checking both the manual and this separate directive.
