Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory airworthiness directive requires operators of Sikorsky S‑76A helicopters with main rotor blades (serials before A086‑01461) to inspect the tip block and tip end assemblies per Sikorsky Alert Service Bulletin 76‑65‑36 (Amendment 1) and repair defects to the manufacturer's specifications. It responds to an in‑flight tip block separation that could cause catastrophic rotor failure; the amendment tightens procedures and adds a calendar compliance deadline to ensure timely inspections and repairs.
