Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority applies to Pratt & Whitney R1830 Series C (16:9 gearing) engines and requires operators to avoid specified engine RPM ranges depending on propeller and reduction-gear configuration, with an immediate placard requirement in the cockpit.

It matters because the restricted RPM ranges prevent dangerous vibrations and mechanical stress that could lead to propeller or engine failure; the directive is effective immediately.
