AD/PA-28/87 - Stabilator Attach Fitting Corrosion - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive 87) that required owners of Piper PA-28 series aircraft to inspect their stabilator (horizontal tail) attachment fittings for corrosion every year.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-28 series aeroplanes.

Why it matters: The cancellation takes effect on 3 July 2008. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined that this specific inspection is now adequately covered by the standard CASA Maintenance Schedule, so the separate mandatory directive is no longer necessary. This reduces regulatory duplication for aircraft maintainers.
