AD/PA-22/4 - Nose Wheel Mount - Stiffener Brace - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that required owners of specific Piper aircraft (PA-22 Tri-Pacer and Colt models) to install a strengthening brace on the nose wheel mount.

Why it matters:

• The safety requirement was first introduced in 1951.
• The aviation safety regulator (CASA) assumes all affected aircraft have already been modified over the past 57 years.
• Because everyone has likely already complied, the rule is no longer needed and is formally cancelled as of 3 July 2008.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer and Colt series aeroplanes, though practically speaking, no action is required as the directive is simply removed from the books.
