| Requirement: | Unless already accomplished, replace the metallic tubes (conduits) enclosing the vent and pilot valve electrical wires in the right and left hand wing fuel tanks with non-conductive hoses (Teflon), with part numbers (P/N) AE717816-03, AE717816-04 or AE717816-05, as applicable, in accordance with the detailed instructions and procedures described in Embraer Service Bulletin (SB) 145-28-0023 Rev. 04 or SB145LEG-28-0018 Rev. 01, or further revisions approved by the Brazilian Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC). |
| Note 1: The “145LEG” series of Embraer Service Bulletins only applies to Legacy executive jets. | |
| Note 2: ANAC AD 2006-06-02 refers. | |
| Compliance: | Within the next 5,000 hours time in service or 4 calendar years, whichever occurs first, after 28 June 2006 (the effective date of ANAC AD 2006-06-02). |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 June 2008. | |
| Background: | The ANAC has found that there is a possibility of sparks being generated due to internal contact between the wires of the vent and pilot valves of the pressure refuelling system inside the wing fuel tanks and the metallic tubes that enclose them, which may lead to a possible ignition source in the vicinity of the fuel tanks. |
| This Directive requires the replacement of the metallic tubes for vent and pilot valves wires in the wing fuel tanks. |
