What it does
Mechanically, this Airworthiness Directive (AD/CL-600/91, dated 3/2008 DM) imposes new mandatory maintenance-schedule changes and inspection/maintenance tasks for Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet Model CL-600-2B19 aircraft (all serial numbers). The Directive requires operators to revise their approved maintenance schedule to incorporate specific fuel-system related tasks taken from Revision 7 of the Canadair Regional Jet Model CL-600-2B19 Maintenance Requirements Manual, CSP A-053, Part 2, Appendix D, “Fuel System Limitations.” The Directive sets five discrete Requirements:
- Requirement 1: Revise the approved maintenance schedule to incorporate inspection requirements listed in Revision 7 of CSP A-053 Part 2 Appendix D. The tasks are listed by task number and description (28-11-00-601, 28-11-00-602, 28-11-00-603, 28-11-00-604), which cover detailed inspection and function checks of critical bonding jumpers, sealant inspections of in-tank LRUs, and inspection of fuel tank wiring harness clipping along the spars.
- Requirement 2: For aircraft with more than 15 000 hours total time in service (TIS) on the effective date, carry out the initial inspection of the tasks from Requirement 1.
- Requirement 3: Revise the approved maintenance schedule further by incorporating two hydraulic reservoir temperature transducer tasks from Revision 7 of CSP A-053 Part 2 Appendix D (29-33-01-601 function check; 29-33-01-602 discard).
- Requirement 4: If not already done, carry out the initial check of task 29-33-01-601 (the hydraulic reservoir temperature transducer function check).
- Requirement 5: For aircraft with more than 27 500 hours TIS on the effective date, carry out task 29-33-01-602 (discard the hydraulic reservoir temperature transducer).
