Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires owners of Cessna 180, 182 and Wren 460 series aeroplanes used in the agricultural category to upgrade the pilot’s shoulder harness so it attaches to the airframe via an inertia reel, approved either by the Secretary or by using Rex Aviation installation drawings RA375, RA375-1, RA375-2. The work had to be completed before 30 June 1963.

It matters because inertia reels restrain pilots in sudden impacts while allowing normal movement during low‑altitude agricultural operations, reducing injury risk.
