Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety instruction (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by the aviation regulator for specific Beechcraft aeroplanes.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 95, B95, B95A, D95A, and E95 model aircraft with serial numbers TD-2 through TD-721.

What it requires: You must inspect and repair or replace the elevator control push rods (the metal rods that connect the pilot's control inputs to the tail elevators, which make the plane climb or descend) strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions in Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 1019.

Why it matters: Corrosion was discovered in similar push rods on other Beechcraft models. Corrosion can weaken these critical control components, potentially leading to failure of the elevator control system during flight.

Compliance: The work must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after 31 May 1980.
