Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: An Airworthiness Directive—a legally binding safety order issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) under aviation law.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of specific Beechcraft King Air aircraft. This applies only to models 65-90 and 65-A90 with serial numbers LJ-1 through LJ-194, plus the specific individual aircraft with serial numbers LJ-203, LJ-205, LJ-220, and LJ-231.

What you must do: You must modify the aircraft's control sub-panel shelf according to the manufacturer's instructions in Beechcraft Service Bulletin 67-5. The compliance deadline is "forthwith"—meaning immediately, before the aircraft's next flight.

Why it matters: This directive mandates a safety-critical fix to prevent potential failure of the control sub-panel shelf. Until this modification is completed, the aircraft is not airworthy and cannot be legally flown.
