Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) requiring seat belt upgrades for specific Beechcraft aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 56TC (Turbo Baron) series aeroplanes—all models.

What you must do:

Modify the front seat restraint installations by fitting proper safety harnesses (shoulder straps, not just lap belts)
The installation must follow a design scheme approved by the Secretary (the government transport official responsible for aviation safety at the time)

When: This modification had to be completed before 1 September 1972.

Why it matters: This improves crash safety by ensuring pilots and front passengers have upper body restraint, reducing the risk of serious injury during turbulence or accidents.
