Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is a mandatory safety fix (called an "Airworthiness Directive") for specific Beechcraft aeroplanes. It requires owners to modify the front seat shoulder harnesses (upper torso restraints) on certain aircraft because the original installation design was no longer considered safe.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Beechcraft 55, 58, and 95-55 (Baron) series aircraft that have front seat restraints installed according to Civil Flying Services Drawing No. CF.1010.

What you must do: Modify the upper torso restraint installation following a scheme approved by the Secretary (of the Department of Transport, or their delegate).

How to comply: One acceptable way to meet this requirement is to follow Molyneux Drawing No. MAD 1048. The original drawing (CF.1010) has had its approval withdrawn, which is why this directive requires you to fix existing installations.

Deadline: Complete the modification within 100 hours of flight time after 31 December 1976.
