Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive mandates a safety fix for specific Beechcraft 200 (Super King Air) aircraft regarding their flap safety switch linkage — the mechanical connection that ensures wing flaps (the moveable wing parts used for takeoff and landing) operate safely and don't malfunction.

Who it affects:

Owners and operators of Model 200 aircraft with specific serial numbers (BB-3 to BB-273, with some exclusions)
Owners and operators of Model 200T aircraft with serial numbers BT-1, BT-2, and BT-3

What must be done: Aircraft must be inspected and repaired according to Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0961 (a technical manual from the manufacturer).

Deadline: The work must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after 30 April 1978.

This prevents potential flap system failures that could create hazards during takeoff or landing.
